Eco Friendly Laundry Detergent Recipe

Simple, safe, and sustainable cleaning for your clothes

Many laundry cleaning products contain toxins which are harmful to both the environment and human health. There are many eco-friendly detergents and bars available to buy, or you can make your own at home. There are lots of recipes available to try out, this is our personal favourite.

 

Ingredients

• ½ cup Epsom salt
• 1 ½ cups Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)
• 1 ½ cups Washing Soda (Sodium Carbonate)
• ¼ cup Sea Salt
• 20 drops Essential Oils (optional)

Method

Mix all ingredients together well. Essential oils are not essential but give a subtle scent. We particularly like combinations of lavender, eucalyptus, mint, lime and orange.

Store in a glass jar of choice with a lid.

Use: 1–2 tablespoons per laundry load.

As with all cleaning products, keep away from children and pets and stop using if irritation to skin or home occurs.
